Haugesund

Haugesund is a compact coastal town on Norway's west coast where running and cycling both centre on the fjord landscape. Runners have the Haugesund Halvmaraton following the seafront and local routes around the harbour; cyclists dominate here, with the Haugesund-Sauda (107km) and Tysværrittet (76km) both tackling the forested inland climbs and coastal passes that rise 300–400m above sea level. The terrain swings between flat fjord-side sections and sharp hill repeats inland, making it a natural base for road cyclists training on longer routes.
