Ourense sits on the Miño River in Galicia where serious mountain biking defines the local cycling scene—the Ribeira Sacra Cycling Road runs 115km through steep granite gorges and vine-terraced hills southeast of the city, while the BTT de Allariz offers 45km of technical singletrack through eucalyptus forests. Running is modest here; the city centre is compact and hilly (200m elevation), so most runners use the river paths or head into the surrounding rural terrain for longer efforts.
