Cyclists treat Swindon as a springboard to the Cotswolds: the Chippenham & District Wheelers Club runs multiple time trials within 20km (the Nixon & Mike Edwards Cup 50-miler and the Chippenham 25 are local staples), while longer road routes climb into the limestone hills south and west. The M4 corridor and A419 make it easy to reach the sharper terrain around Malmesbury and Tetbury, but town-based running stays dead flat.
