Cyclists own this island: the Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves climbs inland 125km to 1,949m elevation gain through volcanic terrain, while the SKY Gran Canaria loops 50km along the coast, and local Wednesday-night groups tackle the steep Isleta Bike route's 22km switchbacks from the city edge. Trail runners have the Bestial Race and OCR Danger Extreme courses in the interior for technical volcanic ground.
