The MauerwegNachtlauf begins late on a summer night at S-Bahnhof Lichterfelde Süd in Berlin, situated on the Berlin Wall Trail. This is a group ultramarathon of approximately 58 kilometers. Runners depart in four distinct pace groups, rather than competing individually from the outset. Start times are staggered throughout the evening, ranging from the leisurely Genuss group to the rapid group, allowing participants to select a pace that suits them.
The course traces the original 100MeilenBerlin route, concluding at Gesundbrunnen-Grundschule. There, participants will find showers, changing facilities, and a modest breakfast accompanied by hot coffee. The fast, middle, and slow groups maintain paces of roughly 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 minutes per kilometer, respectively, with brief walking intervals permitted for the slow group. Aid stations and volunteer assistance are available to support the run through the night. The fundamental principle is straightforward: remain with your group, support fellow runners, and utilize the event as dedicated preparation for the full 100MeilenBerlin.
