Ronde de la Tam is a January race day in Montady, Hérault, southern France, featuring running, trail running, Nordic walking, walking, and children's races. Adult options include a 6.4 km walk, an 8.6 km Nordic walk, a 10.5 km trail run, or a 21 km semi-marathon, with the latter available solo or as a duo. Children's races are free and cover 750 m, 1,500 m, and 3,000 m. The course consists of two 10.5 km loops for the 21 km race, and one loop each for the 10.5 km trail, 8.6 km Nordic walk, and 6.4 km walk. This is the event's 30th edition, emphasizing a local and festive atmosphere over formality. Amenities include a post-race buffet, a collector's jersey for participants, and a surprise gift for early registrants. The event supports the Arche de Noa charity in its efforts against cerebral palsy.

Triathlon de Béziers

Triathlon de Béziers, known as Lou Camel, takes place in late June in Béziers, located in the Hérault department of Occitanie, southern France. It features three adult distances: XS, S, and M, alongside events for children and juniors. The S distance involves a 750 m swim, a 20 km road cycling segment, and a 5 km road run. The M distance doubles the primary challenges with a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km road bike leg, and a 10 km road run. The XS offers a shorter option for new participants, and both the S and M can be completed individually or as part of a relay team. The event is organized by Les Chameaux de Béziers and is in its tenth year. The course is situated between the city and the nearby countryside, featuring swimming in a lake or pond, road cycling, and road running, deviating from a trail format. The XS and S distances also serve as the departmental championship, catering to both novices and local athletes aiming for a title. A practical note: swim caps are not provided because of the organizer's eco-friendly policy, requiring athletes to supply their own. Refreshments are available on-site, and the proximity of Béziers train station allows for easy access to the race.

ベジエのトレーニングノート

ランニング： ベジエはOrb川の上の崖にあるから、地元のランナーはちょっときついコースも走るよ。街の中心部は結構アップダウンがあって、Béziers Urban Trailはまさにそれを活かしたコースだね。Les Allées Paul Riquet、Plateau des Poètes、Pont Vieux、Place Jean Jaurèsとか、街中を上ったり下ったりするコースが多いよ。Pont Vieuxからはベジエの定番の景色が見えるから、ランナーもよくそこを走るんだ。AS Béziers Hérault、AS Béziers、Béziers Angelsみたいなクラブが活動してるから、ランニング仲間もすぐ見つかるよ。Béziers Urban Trail、Beziers night run、Semi-marathon de Maraussan、Ensé'Run、Ronde de la tamなんかが、この地域のメインイベントって感じだね。

サイクリング： 地元の人たちは、軽いZ2ライドから本格的なMTBまで、気軽に楽しんでるよ。Canal du Midiは、Pont-canal de l'OrbやFonseranes locksの近くで、家族でのんびり走ったり、リカバリーライドやフラットなbase milesにぴったり。Béziers Méditerranéeには、松林やブドウ畑、ワインシャトーを抜ける192 kilometers以上のMTBトレイルがあるんだ。Vineyards of Béziers routeはベジエから28 kmで、MTBでもツーリングバイクでも楽しめるよ。Saint-Nazaire Cathedralまで登ると、Languedoc、Caroux mountains、晴れた日にはPyreneesまで見渡せる絶景が待ってる。登りはCorneilhan周辺のブドウ畑のふもととか、Balcons de Corneilhanあたりにあるよ。

シーズン： 7月はめちゃくちゃ暑いから、インターバルとかZ2、ロングライドの日はみんな早朝に動くんだ。夏はブドウ畑、松林、イチジクの木、南部の低木地帯なんかだと、朝から晩までセミの声がBGMになるよ。10月は一番雨が多いんだけど、Béziers Urban Trailがあるから、レースシーズンって感じもするね。1月は一番寒いから、ランナーは街の中心部、Pont Vieux、Plateau des Poètesのあたりで走ることが多いかな。サイクリストはCanal du Midiをbase milesに活用してるし、MTB勢もコンディションが良ければガリーグ、石、乾いた根っこ、舗装路なんかを楽しめるよ。
