Follaheiløpet is a short, steep mountain race held in Follafoss, Trøndelag, each August since 2009. The race begins at Follafoss stadium, situated just 14 meters above sea level, and ascends to the summit of Follaheia, reaching an elevation of 644 meters. The primary course spans approximately 4.5 km, with the 630 meters of elevation gain occurring rapidly rather than progressively.
The initial 2 km traverse a road leading to roughly 110 meters above sea level. Following this, the course transitions to a trail featuring segments of firm ground, a stone-paved path, and marshy areas. While most participants commence their race at the stadium, boys and girls aged 13-15 start further along the course at the 2 km marker. The event accommodates a wide age range, from young children to runners over 80, and includes both competitive categories and a non-competitive fitness class on the same hill.
