Travesía Playa de San Lorenzo
Travesía Playa de San Lorenzo is a summer beach race in Gijón, Asturias, run on the sand of Playa de San Lorenzo, the city’s main urban beach. The start and finish are by stairway 4, and the race is timed for low tide, so runners use the exposed, flatter sand rather than the soft upper beach. It is a sea-level run with no climb, no descent, and no certified course homologation. The participant limit is 1,000, with one liquid aid station and a children’s race. The Patronato Deportivo Municipal organizes it, trophies go to the winners, and the event is a local classic in Gijón’s summer calendar. Its identity is simple: a short, tide-dependent run across the beach, not a standard street race.
