The Slovak Cycling Federation runs a six-discipline calendar (road, MTB, cyclocross, track, BMX, mass-cycling) anchored by Slovenský pohár MTB; L'Étape Slovakia by Tour de France brings WorldTour-flavored road racing to Bratislava each summer. The Carpathian terrain north of Bratislava and through central Slovakia gives serious climbing within minutes of any major city.
