Swedish endurance is the world's most participation-heavy. The Vasaloppet ski-marathon (90km, dating to 1922) is the iconic event; Lidingöloppet is the world's largest off-road race (40,000+ entries); Stockholm Marathon and Göteborgsvarvet (the world's largest half-marathon, 60,000+) round out the En Svensk Klassiker challenge.

Cyclists know Stockholm for STHLM Bike, the long northern gravel routes through Norrbotten, and the Swedish Audax brevets. The terrain rolls gently except for the dramatic mountains of the Lapland north; the long, light summer days are what brings everyone here.
