Borås sits on the Viskan River in central Sweden with rolling terrain that draws serious mountain bikers—the nearby Västgötaloppet MTB covers 70km through forest and singletrack, while Ulricehamns MTB events offer shorter technical routes 20km away. Runners find the town relatively flat along the river corridor, though the surrounding countryside toward the south and east lifts into proper hills within 10–15km for longer efforts. The Viskan Swimrun is the main summer event bringing the community together on the water.
