About cycling & running in Jastrzębie-ZdrójJastrzębie Training Notes
Running: Locals run Jastrzębie-Zdrój in a race-first way, with the Jastrzębska Dziesiątka as the clean anchor. The Jastrzębska Dziesiątka route covers 10 km, carries PZLA certification, and runs on two loops. Kobiety na 5 Jastrzebski Bieg Kobiet gives the city a sharp 5 km target. Biegaj Razem, Bieg Barborkowy, and Biegowe Grand Prix Rybnika keep runners looking just outside town too. Koka Jastrzębie and UKS Romi Jastrzębie are names locals know from the club scene. Locals use Ruptawa, Bzie, and Szeroka as familiar edges when they want steady base miles.
Cycling: Jas-Kółka gives the riding scene its centre of gravity. The club talks like riders talk, inviting lone wolves and riders from other teams to shared training, advice, and a bit of proper bike chat. The Opening of the Season and Season Closing races mark the calendar, while Tour de Cupek, the Równica raids, and the Mountain Championships Jas-Kółek give climbers a reason to stay honest. Cupek mountain reaches 524 m.a.s.l. and the Tour de Cupek climb runs 1.7 km at 8.6%. Równica, Łysa Góra, and Góra Groszowa are the names you hear when the road tilts.
Season: May, June, July, September, and December shape the useful training year here. September carries real race energy, because the XIII Jastrzębska Dziesiątka and X Biegów Małego Jastrząbka both took place on September 20, 2025. July brings XI Erigo Nocny Bieg z Gwiazdami and Pawlowicki Bieg Sladami Mielzynskich, while August points runners and riders toward Wodzislawski Duathlon. June 2026 puts I Bike Race Marklowice on the board. December changes the mood without killing it, because Akademia Nordic Walking and Bieg Barborkowy keep people moving when cyclists start guarding Z2 and runners pick cleaner interval days.
