Bragança sits on a high plateau in northeast Portugal at 700m elevation, where the terrain around the walled city alternates between rolling farmland and forested ridges. The Bragança Granfondo is the region's flagship cycling event, a 155km route that tackles the climbing into the Montesinho mountains to the north.
