Loures

Loures sits north of Lisbon in the Estremadura region, where rolling terrain and forest trails make it a stronghold for mountain biking rather than road running. The TAÇA INTERMUNICIPAL 3H RESISTÊNCIA BTT 2026 - LOURES is a 164km endurance race through the local Saloios hills and woodland; shorter riders tackle the 55km Passeio BTT por Trilhos Saloios. Runners here are mostly track- and duathlon-focused (the Cross da Amadora draws competitors from the wider region), and the flat Lisbon suburbs to the south offer easier running than the rough country to the north.
