Cyclists have two distinct scenes: flat urban riding along the beach and bayfront (Ride of Silence, Conquer the Canal Individual and Team Time Trial follow these routes), and rolling terrain inland toward North Carolina where elevation picks up gradually. The region's humidity and heat dominate training, especially May through September, but winter offers ideal conditions for tempo work and long efforts.
