Paros Way is a mid-June sports weekend on Paros in the Cyclades, featuring running, swimming, and aquathlon races. The aquathlon is a short swim-run event: 750 meters in the water followed by a 5 km run. A relay option is available for teams who want to split the two legs. The race is based in Parikia, the main port town of Paros. The aquathlon is scheduled as a two-hour late-afternoon event, running under the auspices of the Municipality of Paros. This is the fifth consecutive edition of the wider Paros Way event. The organizers target athletes and recreational sports fans, with returning participants citing the island’s easy access and summer setting as draws. No refreshment stations are listed for the aquathlon, so racers should plan their own fluids around the start and finish.
The Andros Trail Challenge 34km is a trail race held in Ormos Korthiou on Andros, Greece. It starts in the morning during a late-May to early-June festival weekend. This 34km race, the Gerakones Challenge, is part of the larger Andros Challenge & Festival, an island event that originated from the former Andrus Beer Trail Race Festival. The Gerakones Challenge limits participation to 200 solo runners and includes one aid station, with a time limit of 3 hours 30 minutes. The course profile shows moderate elevation changes for its distance, featuring 253 meters of climbing and 253 meters of descent. The festival also offers shorter trail runs, like the 5.7km Aidonia Encounter, suitable for those new to mountain running, alongside a Drink & Run race and a swimming challenge, indicating the weekend includes multiple events.
Running: Locals keep easy runs close to Chora when they want flat Z2 by the sea. The Naxos Town Waterfront promenade runs about 1 km from the ferry terminal to Agios Georgios Beach, and Agios Georgios Beach adds another 1 km. You can push it to 5 km when legs feel good. The Stelida Road line can turn into a 10 km run by turning back from Agios Prokopios Beach. Naxos Run Club is the social pick, with free all-level runs and Sunrise by the Naxos Sea. gives the island another sports anchor.
Cycling: Locals ride Chora first when they want base miles without much drama, because things are flatter there and close to the sea. The island gets hilly fast once the road points inland. Potamia, Halki, and Apiranthos make the classic village-to-village ride, with olive groves, small squares, and winding roads back toward the water. The guided road bike adventure from Chora covers 50 km in 4 hours and reaches the viewpoint near Stavros Keramoti. Mount Zas and the interior hold the real climbing mood. Gravel riders and MTB riders get dirt roads, marble paths, and some singletrack.
Season: Spring and autumn are the clean choices for steady training on Naxos. March to June and September to December usually sit between 17°C and 25°C, so intervals, long rides, and beach runs all feel normal. Summer brings the Cycladic wind, and locals train in the early morning before the windsurfers and kitesurfers take over. Chora still works for short runs and easy spins, while the interior stays fresher. Winter changes the map a bit, because inland areas get cooler and wetter than the coast. Runners and riders keep options lower, flatter, and closer to town.
