Trento Half Marathon
The Trento Half Marathon is a 21.097 km road race held in late September through Trento, the capital of Italy’s Trentino region. A.S.D. Città di Trento organizes the event as part of the Trento Running Festival. The half marathon distance is certified by WA/FIDAL, with AIMS certification also noted for the course. The route is a single loop entirely within Trento’s urban area, keeping runners within the city. The course has been adjusted for faster running and record attempts, while also catering to club runners and those racing for enjoyment. The city scenery features Buonconsiglio Castle, the MUSE science museum, Piazza Duomo, the civic tower, the Neptune Fountain, and the cathedral. Previous winning times for the event include Mosisa Tefera’s 1:01:12 and Purity Rionoripo’s 1:08:34, indicating a competitive field at the front alongside mass-participation runners.
