Trento

Trento sits in a north-south valley carved by the Adige river at 194 metres elevation, surrounded by the pre-Alps—the terrain rises steeply in all directions, making it ideal for trail running and mountain cycling. The XV Trento Half Marathon runs the flat valley floor, while cyclists head to the high passes and gravel routes: the Valsugana Wild Ride (62km) traces the valley east toward the Dolomites, and the Top Dolomites (112km) climbs into serious alpine terrain with sustained 1000m+ elevation gains. The local cycling culture is serious—gravel, road, and trail all converge here, drawing riders to the MAXXIS Gravel Garda Trentino event and the steep singletrack accessible directly from town.
