Maine Lighthouse Ride
The Maine Lighthouse Ride takes place in September along the southern Maine coast, offering four route options: 25, 40, 62, and 100 miles. Cyclists will encounter rolling terrain, not flat paths, with routes designed to showcase views of the Atlantic Ocean, Scarborough Marsh, and several lighthouses. The event accommodates various skill levels, allowing both those seeking a shorter supported ride and those aiming for a century to select a suitable distance. The ride benefits the Eastern Trail Alliance, the organization responsible for developing, preserving, and advocating for the Eastern Trail, a multi-use greenway in southern Maine. Supported rest stops, featuring snacks like pickles and PB&Js, are a highlight. The day concludes with post-ride activities, including a meal and two beers. Now in its twenty-third year, the event has established itself as a local cycling tradition.
