Pescara sits on the Adriatic coast where flat seaside running dominates—the Maratonina del Mare and 11° Pescara Half Marathon both trace the waterfront, making them fast courses at sea level. Cyclists head inland to the Gran Sasso massif (2,912m elevation) just 40km west, where the Nova Eroica Gran Sasso and La Michettiana challenge routes climb through switchbacks and mountain villages in the heart of the Apennines.
