Rhode Island Half Marathon & 5K
Rock 'n' Roll Washington DC is a March road race featuring a half marathon and 5K, held in Washington, D.C. since 2006. Originally the National Marathon, it later became part of the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series, and now focuses on the shorter distances instead of the former full marathon. The half marathon and 5K conclude at 4th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, at the base of Capitol Hill. The half marathon begins on Constitution Avenue near the National Mall and remains within the District, with the course passing through six of D.C.'s eight wards. An earlier iteration included a section in Prince George's County, Maryland, but the route was subsequently altered to be entirely within Washington. The full marathon previously finished near RFK Stadium, and the event has provided support to local organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Special Olympics District of Columbia, Fort Dupont Ice Arena, and the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation.
