La marseillaise des femmes - Marseille
La Marseillaise des Femmes is a 5.4 km race for women in Marseille, open to runners and walkers along the Prado beaches. It has taken place since 2010 and draws about 10,000 registrations annually, making it the largest women’s race in the South of France. The distance is suitable for first-timers, charity teams, and walkers, yet it maintains the feel of a substantial mass event. The day begins with a group warm-up by the beach before participants start the coastal course. The race emphasizes solidarity alongside sport: one euro from each entry fee supports breast cancer research and Amnesty International, connecting the event to women’s health and rights. Men may participate only when invited by women and are not included in the rankings, ensuring the focus remains on female participation while allowing friends and family to share the route.
