Heartland Series - Day 2 (MI)
Celebrity Race Across the World series 3 sends four celebrity pairs 5,900 kilometers across Central America, starting on Isla Mujeres in Mexico and finishing in Colombia’s Península de La Guajira. It aired on BBC One as six hour-long episodes and is the third celebrity edition in the UK Race Across the World franchise. The race is simple: teams must travel from checkpoint to checkpoint without phones, internet, or outside money, using a fixed budget of £950 per person, about the cost of flying the same route.
The route crosses a region where teams can make very different choices instead of following one obvious road. The race relies on buses, local assistance, paid odd jobs, and judgment under pressure. The cast included Anita Rani with her dad Bal, Dylan Llewellyn with his mum Jackie, Tyler West with Molly Rainford, and Roman Kemp with his sister Harleymoon. Five checkpoints mandated rest periods, and teams only learned the next destination upon leaving each one. A production crew accompanied each pair for safety, including a producer, driver, researcher, medic/security support, and local fixer, but producers could not give clues or guide decisions.

ランニング： ナイルズで走るなら、St. Joseph River沿いが一番気持ちいいよね。Riverwalk Trailはダウンタウンや歴史ある住宅街を抜けて、水辺をずっと走れるからさ。Island ParkもRiverfront Parkも、Z2の練習とかインターバル、あとは軽くジョグするのにスタート地点として使いやすいんだ。ランニングクラブは特にないけど、レースカレンダーを見れば、みんな繋がりを感じられるよ。Hero Runが街のメインイベントだね。Frigid 5kは冬でも走る理由をくれるし。他にもRunning Wild 5K Run & 3K Scavenger Hunt Walk、Bacon Around the Bend 5K、Titan Takeoff 5k & 1 Mile、それからRun! Buchanan for the Parksとか、近くにもいろいろ目標になるレースがあるから飽きないよ。
サイクリング： ナイルズの自転車乗りは、気軽にグラベルを楽しめるんだ。N 17th StからLake Stまで5 milesのルートがあるから、短い周回コースよりベースマイルを稼ぐのに向いてるね。West Chicago Road、Bond Street、Harrah Road、Weaver RoadからSouth Philip Road、Wells Street、Geyer Roadあたりは、いろんな路面を混ぜたライドに短いコネクターとして使えるよ。脚がダートを求めてる時は、Yankee St、Creek Rd、Stafford Rd、W Winn Rd、Matthew Rdなんかでさらにオプションが増える感じ。サイクリングクラブとか、crit、gran fondo、cyclocrossのレースは特にないみたいだけど。登りはSt. Joseph Riverの周りのローリングヒルとか急な河岸に集中してるよ。
