Medway Towns

Running in the Medway Towns is mostly flat and urban, threaded along the River Medway through Chatham, Rochester and Gillingham. Cyclists dominate the local racing scene with the Gravesend CC Club 10 time trials (16km out-and-back on the A227 north towards Gravesend), which draw regular competitors from across the region. The Kent countryside rolls gently 10–15km inland from the town centres, offering cycle routes into the North Downs with modest climbing around 100–150m.
