Seville's running culture centres on flat riverside courses through the city's parks — the Carrera popular Parque de Maria Luisa loops the botanical gardens on the east bank, while the Carrera Nocturna del Alamillo draws night runners along the Alamillo park trails on the west side, both under 300m elevation. Cyclists face a blank high-heat landscape within the city itself but head north into Andalusian hill country for proper riding: the BTT Zufre runs 70km through cork oak forests with sustained climbing, while the CR MTB Carrión de los Céspedes and shorter Cronoescalada Ciudad de Menjíbar offer technical terrain in the sierras 40–60km out. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 35°C, so serious training happens early morning or winter months.
