Norwich is dead flat and inland, making it ideal for distance cycling on quiet Norfolk country roads. The Norwich 100 Bike Ride and The Norfolk Mardle 100 are the anchor events here, both running deep into the agricultural landscape with minimal elevation change. Runners use the River Wensum towpath and Eaton Park for tempo work, though most serious distance runners head to the Norfolk coast or west toward the Breckland hills for proper terrain.
