Charleville-Mézières runs on the Meuse river flats with the Sedan-Charleville marathon (42.195km) as the flagship road event, though the terrain offers little elevation for serious runners. Cyclists have real options: the plateaus north toward Rocroy climb to ~400m and feature the Randonnée Du Plateau De Rocroy (90km), while the Ardennes forests and VTT routes around Flize and Angecourt provide technical off-road riding across rolling terrain within 30–40km.
