Runners have the Raamvallei Duomarathon as a fast mixed-terrain event, and the city itself sits on the Waal riverbank with dyke paths ideal for steady runs. Cyclists heading south find the Veluwe hills (up to 110m) within 20km; the terrain is Dutch — expect wind and flat sections — but punctuated by forested climbing zones that define regional racing.
