Pleasant Lake, Fire Burst 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run

Fire Burst is a small community 5K and kids run held at Lion's Park on Pleasant Lake in Rockville, Minnesota. The 5K begins in the morning from the park on Lake Road, and the Kids 1K Fun Run starts first on the park trail, entirely within Lion's Park. It is a relaxed local event, not chip-timed, with each participant receiving a custom Fire Burst medal. The 5K starts along Pleasant Lake on Lake Road, goes through nearby neighborhoods, and returns to Lion's Park with a fast downhill section and a flat final mile. The morning also includes a pancake and sausage breakfast, with young children eating free. All race proceeds support the Pleasant Lake Area Homeowners Association fireworks fund, tying the run directly to the lake community's summer celebration.

Eddy Trail Races

The Eddy Trail Races begin and end at Chi Rho Center, located south of Lake Sylvia near Annandale, Minnesota. This trail running event offers two primary distances: the Big Eddy 50k and the Eddy Half Marathon. Both courses traverse Stanley Eddy Park Reserve, a terrain with hills that increase the challenge compared to a flat road race. The 50k distance slightly exceeds its advertised length, running approximately 51 to 52 kilometers. The Big Eddy 50k route features frequent aid station access, with a central station passed six times and three additional stations visited twice each. This setup ensures runners receive support regularly while remaining on the trails for the majority of the race. The half marathon combines roughly eight miles of trail with three miles of gravel and brief paved segments near the start and finish. It includes three aid stations, one of which is encountered three times. Chi Rho Center provides on-site lodging and meals, allowing participants to stay close to the start and engage with fellow runners throughout the weekend. Post-race, runners have the option to swim in Lake Sylvia, and complimentary professional race photography is available.

Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon

The Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon is a 26.2-mile race in central Minnesota, held annually in May. It runs from Holdingford to St. Joseph on the paved Lake Wobegon Trail. This flat, straight, USATF-certified course is suitable for Boston Marathon qualifying. The St. Cloud River Runners, a club of approximately 150 members, organizes the event, which has a participant limit of 450. The marathon begins at the Holdingford high school, soon merging with the trail. It proceeds southwest to Albany before turning east towards St. Joseph. The course follows a former freight rail line through farmland, crossing the South Branch of Two Rivers, passing several lakes, and nearing a state-designated science and nature area. The trail is named after Garrison Keillor’s fictional Lake Wobegon, with Keillor describing the scenery as possessing "ordinary beauty." The marathon was initiated by Joe Perske and Sharon Hobbs, both members of the St. Cloud River Runners. The inaugural race attracted participants from 12 U.S. states and Canada.

St. Cloud Training Notes

Endurunce Shops Hump Day 5k giver onsdagsløbere start kl. 4:30, 5:00, 5:30 og 6:00.
