Almería is a coastal desert city where mountain-bike racing dominates—the Skoda Titan Desert, a legendary 101km bikepacking event, runs through the arid sierras inland from here, and Las 4 Cimas pushes cyclists to 115km across rocky, exposed terrain with 2000m+ climbing. Road runners use the flat seafront promenade and city parks, though the real cycling action is in the bone-dry hills south and west where gravel and singletrack define the local scene; the Carrera Popular Universidad de Almería offers a gentler 10km urban counterpoint.
