Island Gladiator Slovakia

Island Gladiator Slovakia is a 6 km obstacle course race held in Lednické Rovne, a village in the Púchov district of Slovakia’s Trenčín region. The race is listed as an OCR event, and its 6 km option is also known as the Päťka. It takes place on a Saturday in early August, with official race regulations available on the event website. The listing provides basic information. The key point is that this is a short obstacle race, not a standard road run. It is included in a public Slovak race calendar with trail runs, road races, hill races, relays, children’s runs, and other OCR events, indicating it is intended for regular recreational runners as well as obstacle-racing participants.

KOMPAVA Beh zdravia

KOMPAVA Beh zdravia is a family-friendly road race in Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Slovakia, starting and finishing on Námestie slobody. Participants can choose between 4 km and 8 km races, both on asphalt. The event also includes a 4 km Nordic walking option and children's races. KOMPAVA organizes the race with support from the city and local services, structuring it as a morning-to-early-afternoon community gathering. The route follows a 4 km city circuit, passing through streets such as J. Hašku, Hviezdoslavova, M. R. Štefánika, Kapitána Nálepku, Hurbanova, and Komenského. It also includes sections within Park Dominika Štubňu-Zámostského and Mestský park J. M. Hurbana. The 8 km runners complete the loop twice, while Nordic walkers use the shorter distance. The race accommodates a wide range of participants: men and women compete in the 4 km and 8 km events. Nordic walking is open to all ages, and children have shorter routes of 260 m and 975 m. Hundreds of adult runners typically participate, alongside children, with the day also featuring a children's program, dance performances, and a tombola.

Benefičný beh PRO AUTIS

Benefičný beh PRO AUTIS is a charity run held at the former forester's lodge in Soblahov, near Trenčín in western Slovakia. It typically takes place in spring, although some past editions have been held in late summer. The event features three adult distances of approximately 13.5 km, 10 km, and 5 km, with shorter children's races held earlier in the day. AUTIS o.z. organizes the run, offering a straightforward registration process with lower fees for online sign-ups and higher fees on the day of the event. The longest route presents a challenge with about 482 m of elevation gain over just over 13 km. The 10 km route is considerably less demanding, and the 5 km course is flat. All adult routes consist of a mix of asphalt and forest roads. The course is not officially certified, giving it the character of a local charity trail-and-road run rather than a precisely measured road race. Adult participants compete without age categories, while children are divided into boys' and girls' categories for ages up to 6, 9, and 12, in addition to a 300 m children's course.

About cycling & running in Trenčín

Trenčín Training Notes

Running: Locals run the Váh when they want flat Z2 and easy base miles. Park Dominika Štubňu-Zámostského and Mestský park J. M. Hurbana work for short loops, strides, and simple intervals. KADE TADE Running club meets on Saturdays at 19:45 at Okruhový dom armády, Hviezdoslavova 16, and the run starts at 20:00. The loop covers 6 km through Trenčín. 0975 km.

Cycling: Locals ride the Váh cycle route when they want steady spinning, family pace, or clean base miles. The Váh cycle route gives riders a marked section of over 166 km, and the surface stays easy on asphalt and compacted paths. Brezina gives mountain bikers MTB trails close to town, and the basin keeps the first part honest before the hills bite. Strážov Mountains sit east for climbing days, White Carpathians sit west, and Považský Inovec rounds out the bigger terrain. The brief names no cycling club or cycling anchor race, so riders usually treat the climbs as the session.

Season: Spring and early autumn give Trenčín the best training rhythm, with enough daylight for doubles and enough bite in the air for tempo. Summer brings hot days, so locals start early, keep the Váh route for steady Z2, and save sharper intervals for cooler evenings. Winter changes the feel fast because Trenčín gets cold, snowy months. Runners stay close to parks and city routes, cyclists move easier rides to clear asphalt, and cyclocross legs come from whatever the weather leaves usable.
