Kelowna's running and cycling revolve around its position in the Okanagan Valley, a narrow corridor between two lakes with steep terrain on both sides. The Wandering Moose trail races (12k to 35k) and Brian Rhodes Memorial 5K tap into the region's extensive network of singletrack and ridge routes in the surrounding mountains. Cyclists flock to nearby downhill venues—SilverStar and Big White both host UCI Continental racing with technical descents from 1,900m+ elevation—while road cyclists use the flat valley floor along Okanagan Lake as a base before climbing into the interior ranges.
