Oxford

Running in Oxford is constrained by the city's flat, university-dominated terrain—the Parks Run along the Cherwell and Port Meadow loops are the standard routes, with most training done on towpaths or college grounds. Cyclists dominate the scene: the Oxonian CC 25 and Didcot Phoenix CC 25 are the bread-and-butter time trials, both starting from the flats north of the city and pushing into the Oxfordshire plains for 40km efforts. Hills only appear west toward the Cotswolds (elevation ~200m more), where the four-day Cotswold Way challenge beckons serious endurance cyclists.
