40. Oberwaldlauf

The Oberwaldlauf is a forest and community road race in Karlsruhe, organized by TuS Rüppurr at their sports grounds in Rüppurr. It takes place in autumn and features standard 5 km and 10 km races. The event is also classified as a Volkslauf, intended for both casual runners and club athletes. The event caters to participants from U10 children up to masters runners over 80. Start lists may include school-age racers, active adults, walkers, and experienced age-group competitors on the same day. Previous editions featured 10 km, 5 km, and 5 km walking events. Past results indicate participation from local Karlsruhe clubs as well as runners from nearby towns and regional athletics teams.

Baden-Marathon Karlsruhe

The Baden-Marathon takes place in September in Karlsruhe, starting and finishing at Europahalle. Originally a city marathon, it was, until the COVID-19 interruption, second only to Berlin among Germany's continuously held city marathons. The event now includes more than just the full marathon: a half marathon, walking, Nordic walking, and a Business-Team-Marathon are also offered. The half marathon, introduced in 1991, attracted more participants than the full marathon and is now one of Germany's largest half marathons. The marathon course consists of two distinct loops, altering the race's character at the halfway point. The initial loop, on asphalt, passes Kriegsstraße, Oststadt, Durlach, and Rüppurr, forming the faster section. The second loop crosses Günther-Klotz-Anlage, follows the Alb river for several kilometers, goes by Mühlburg and the city center, and includes four bridges and some unpaved sections, increasing the challenge despite the route's generally flat profile. Participants in the marathon can transition to the half marathon finish near the end of the first loop. Pace runners are available for target times starting at 2:59. Since 2001, the event has featured an artistic element with body-painted runners and performance art.

ランニング： 地元の人はシンプルに走ってるよ。Stadtgarten、Schlossgarten、Citypark Ost、Günther-Klotz Anlage、Oberwald、Hardtwaldあたりで、ほとんどのイージーなZ2はこなせるね。公園の北口からは5kmの推奨ルートがあって、天気がいい日は朝早くから賑わうよ。Oberwald parkrunは毎週土曜の09:00から始まるし、STARK Runningは火曜の夜にインターバルをやってる。楽しく走る仲間もいるよ。週末にGPSウォッチを持って走る人は、DurlachやEttlingenの方に南下して16km以上走るよ。脚が坂を求めたらWattkopfが待ってる。主なレースはKSC Schlossparklauf、Volkslauf der Stadtwerke Karlsruhe、B2RUN Karlsruhe、それからBaden-Marathon Karlsruheだね。

サイクリング： 地元の人はまず平坦な街中を走って、それから方向を決める感じ。Rhine Cycle RouteやRhine Valley Trailは西の方へベースマイルを稼ぎに行くのにいいし、Hardtwaldは街の近くで安定した森林ライドができるよ。Black Forest Trailはカールスルーエから東へLörrach方面に伸びてるし、Baden Wine Cycle Routeは460kmくらいの長距離で、グランフォンドみたいな気分で走れる。坂は南と東にあって、Turmberg、Durlach、Ettlingen、Wattkopf、Kraichgau、Northern Black Forestあたりが脚にくるね。Karlsruher SCとSVK Beiertheimがこの街のクラブの柱で、ライダーもハードなイベントを探すときは、カールスルーエのランニングレースを参考にしたりするよ。

シーズン： 春と秋が一番いい時期だね。気候が穏やかだし、公園も使いやすい感じ。夏は年間2,000時間くらい日照があるんだけど、最高気温が30-35°Cになると地元の人たちは早くからスタートするよ。SchlossgartenやRhineの道は天気がいいと混むから、Z2ライドや一定ペースのランは日が暑くなる前に済ませるのが一番。冬は他のドイツの都市よりは穏やかだけど、降水量がこの時期に集中するから、ランナーはOberwald、Hardtwald、あとは街中のループを利用するね。ライダーはRhine、Alb、Pfinz沿いの平坦なルートで、泥汚れの少ないベースマイルを稼いでるよ。
