Fredrikstad Maraton
Fredrikstad Maraton starts and finishes at FIF-huset on Ilaveien 132 in Fredrikstad, Norway. It is a road race with three distance options: 3 km, 14 km, and the full marathon. The marathon is built from three equal 14 km laps, with an extra 195 meters run before the laps begin. The repeated lap format keeps each kilometer marker in the same place on every circuit, which makes pacing easy to follow. The first half of the route is on asphalt, while the later stretch uses gravel and forest roads in Fredrikstadmarka. Runners head south toward town, then turn back through quieter green areas to FIF-huset. The course layout has stayed the same since the race began in 2001.
