Fredrikstad-Sarpsborg

Fredrikstad-Sarpsborg straddles the Glomma river in southeast Norway, with rolling forest terrain and several established cycling events. The Skjebergrittet and Spenst Skjebergrittet courses (54km and 65km) are local cycling staples through the Østfold hinterland, while Kråketråkken (84km) extends deeper into the forested hills east toward Sweden. Runners find mostly flat riverside paths along the Glomma, but serious hill work requires heading inland toward the Østmarka plateau or southwest toward the Oslo approaches.
