Cross de Żagań pour la Coupe de la Grande Évasion
土 3月 20
The Cross of Żagań for the Great Escape Cup is a unique cross-country race in Żagań, Poland, commemorating the 1944 Great Escape of 76 Allied airmen from the Stalag Luft III prisoner-of-war camp. The challenging 10km course is 100% cross-country, traversing the historic grounds of the former camp, including forests and sandy military tracks. Shorter distances are also available. The event is accessible by car via national roads and by train from cities like Zielona Góra and Wrocław. After the race, participants can explore Żagań's historical sites, including the Museum of Prisoner Camps (featuring a replica of the 'Harry' tunnel), the Baroque Prince's Palace and its English-style park, and the post-Augustinian monastic complex with its unique library and church. Local restaurants offer traditional Polish cuisine such as roast meats, pierogi, and żurek soup.
Bieg Sokoła
日 4月 11
Course du Faucon is a nature-focused road running event in Włoszakowice, a village in the Leszno District of Greater Poland. Held around mid-April, it offers 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, and 15 km race options, with separate events for children and juniors. The 15 km is the main event, while the shorter distances make the day accessible for families and newer runners. The route follows forest paths around Włoszakowice, giving the race a woodland feel rather than a city-road event. The area is near Leszno, with Poznań and Zielona Góra both reachable in under an hour. Nearby attractions include the Sułkowski Palace and park, Boszkowo on Lake Dominickie, and nature-reserve education trails. A local post-race food to try is pyra wielkopolska z gzik, potatoes served with a fresh cheese spread.
Półmaraton Polkowicki
日 4月 25
The ATT RUN FUN Polkowice Half Marathon follows the official PZLA half-marathon distance of 21.0975 km. The main race begins at 11:30 AM. The event also offers shorter options: a 10 km run, a 5 km nordic walking event, and separate races for children and youth. The route extends through the villages of Trzebcz, Komorniki, Żuków, and Guzice, avoiding a simple town-centre loop. Local cheering zones are set up along the course, with villages competing for the title of best cheering zone. The event, in its fifth edition, is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Polkowice, Wiesław Wabik.
Bieg Papieski
日 4月 25
The Giro d’Italia concludes with its final stage in Rome, and this year's event includes a seldom-seen detour through the Vatican. The race begins and ends in the Italian capital, with the Vatican passage planned as a tribute to Pope Francis following his passing. This marks the first time the Giro has entered the Vatican, adding a ceremonial dimension to the closing day beyond the typical sprint-stage atmosphere in Rome. The cyclists will travel through the Vatican Gardens, exit via the Perugin Gate, and then head back toward the Tiber River to rejoin the standard Rome course. Securing permission presented challenges, according to Monsignor Paul Tighe, but Pope Francis's personal interest in sports facilitated the arrangement. The organizers presented the visit as both a tribute to Francis and a message to the new Pope about the enduring link between sport and the Church.
Bieg Herosa Maj
土 5月 8
Bieg Herosa Maj is a sandy off-road race series on the Błędów Desert in Klucze, in Poland’s Małopolska region. The start area is around Róża Wiatrów on the desert, so runners are dealing with open ground rather than forest trails or city streets. It is a May event built around endurance running, obstacle racing, Nordic walking, and dog-friendly races, with options ranging from short 5 km and 7 km events to timed challenges of 3 hours and 9 hours. The course uses natural desert terrain: packed sand, loose sand, and rough tracks, with wind and sun exposure adding to the effort. Nomada 9h is a loop race for runners who want to keep moving for most of the day, while Nomada 3h is a shorter sand-based endurance test. Miraże and Lisy Pustyni offer 5 km and 7 km formats, and Bieg Z Psem lets people race the same distances with a dog. The mix makes the event less like a standard road race and more like a day of choosing how much sand, time, and unpredictability you want to take on.
BolesławiecRun – Course européenne pour la santé
日 5月 23
BolesławiecRun – European Race for Health is an event that combines a passion for sport, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and an international, European atmosphere. It offers an ideal opportunity to test your fitness on the streets of Bolesławiec, one of Lower Silesia's most beautiful cities. Participants typically compete on a flat and fast course over distances of 5 km or 10 km, making it suitable for both experienced runners aiming for personal bests and beginners. The event features a great atmosphere, a health-focused picnic, and races for children, attracting entire families. Bolesławiec is easily accessible by car (near the A4 motorway) or train, including from Wrocław, Legnica, or Zgorzelec. After crossing the finish line and receiving a unique medal, it is worth staying longer in Bolesławiec. The city, famous for its unique pottery, offers charming places for an afternoon relaxation or a family outing. Visitors can explore the Living Museum of Ceramics, the world capital of unique, stamp-decorated pottery, where they can admire art and participate in workshops. The Market Square of Bolesławiec, one of Lower Silesia's most beautiful, features colorful, carefully restored houses and a monumental town hall, perfect for a romantic stroll and coffee served in local ceramics. The impressive stone railway viaduct over the Bóbr River, nearly 500 meters long, resembles a Roman aqueduct and is a striking sight in the evening with its spectacular illumination. After the race, local restaurants offer hearty traditional Lower Silesian cuisine, such as żurek, pierogi, and delicious roasts, to help runners recover their strength.
Botaniczna Piątka Zielona Góra
土 5月 29
Botaniczna Piątka Zielona Góra is a race series held in all four seasons, offering participants a chance to explore the local natural environment. The series includes a spring edition, a summer edition, an autumn edition, and a winter edition. The main event features a 5 km course described as picturesque and suitable for both competitive runners aiming for personal bests and families participating in their first race. The event takes place in Zielona Góra, a town in western Poland known for its forests. Post-race activities include receiving a floral-themed medal and exploring local attractions such as the Palm House, Vineyard Park, searching for Bachusiki statues, visiting the Ochla open-air museum (skansen), and trying local pierogi with blueberries or grapes. The town is approximately an hour's drive from Gorzów Wielkopolski and Nowa Sól, making it a potential base for longer weekend trips and excursions.
Hunters Grodziski Półmaraton „Słowaka”
土 6月 12
In Grodzisk Wielkopolski, the Hunters Grodziski Półmaraton “Słowaka” transforms a small Greater Poland town into a day dedicated to running each year. The primary event is a certified half marathon covering 21.097 km, with 5 km and 10 km races offered as well. An afternoon mini-half marathon for children, limited to 1,000 participants, is also held. The course winds through the town, featuring the Old Market Square and Town Hall, City Park, and Regional Museum as backdrops before concluding at the stadium. Originating from small school runs at Juliusz Słowacki High School, it has become one of Poland's most recognized half marathons. The course is conducive to achieving personal bests, but the local engagement is what participants frequently mention: nearly every home along the route hosts supporters, creating a sense of community participation rather than mere observation.
Niesulicka Dziesiątka
土 6月 26
Niesulicka Dziesiątka begins and ends at the former parking lot near the LAGO resort in Niesulice, a small resort village in Lubuskie. This late-June running event offers two distances: the 10 km Niesulicka Dziesiątka and the 5 km Niesulicka Piątka. The 10 km race also contributes to the Biegowy Grand Prix Powiatu Świebodzińskiego, attracting runners seeking both a local competition and series points. The route consists of dirt and forest roads, not a certified road course. Participants can anticipate a cross-country feel with potentially soft ground, stones, puddles, and tree roots. The course encircles one of the region's cleaner lakes. The field is limited to 400 runners; a recent 10 km edition saw 122 starters. Gmina Skąpe organizes the event, which uses electronic timing, and finishers are awarded medals.
Course du Loup
日 7月 4
The Wolf Run in Wilkowo is an event for runners seeking adventure. It offers a great atmosphere and a course suitable for fast running. Participants can choose between a 5.5 km race or an 11 km race. Wilkowo is a charming location near Świebodzin and approximately 30 minutes from Zielona Góra. Nearby attractions include the Międzyrzecz Fortified Region, Łagów Lubuski castle, and Lake Niesłysz. Local cuisine includes game and mushroom pierogi.
Bieg Herosa Lipiec
土 7月 24
Bieg Herosa Lipiec is a race series held in late July in Klucze, Lower Silesia, Poland. It focuses on short 5 km efforts rather than long-distance road running. Participants can select a 5 km obstacle race, a 5 km trail race, or a 5 km Nordic walking option. This variety accommodates those interested in mud-and-barriers racing, off-road running, or a brisk walk with poles. The course features sandy ground and a desert-like setting, with terrain that frequently changes underfoot. The sand adds technicality to the 5 km, making footing and rhythm more critical than on a flat road. A children's and juniors' course is also available, enhancing the event's family-friendly nature compared to a single adult race format.
Bieg bez Granic
日 9月 19
Prepare for one of the most unique and symbolic races in this part of Europe. The Course sans Frontières (Lauf ohne Grenzen) is organized in the border town of Gubin, Poland, and the neighboring German town of Guben. This sporting event literally and figuratively connects two nations, two cities, and thousands of runners' passions. Forget traditional borders; here, barriers are lifted, and the only thing that matters is a common sporting goal. The main event is typically a certified 10 km course, which is very fast and perfectly flat. Organizers also often offer a shorter distance, such as 5 km, and races for children and teenagers. The course has a particularly interesting cross-border character: you start in Poland and, after crossing the bridge over the Lusatian Neisse River, you find yourself in Germany for a short time before returning to the Polish side. It is an incredible sensation to be cheered on during the same race by residents of two different countries, in two languages. The flat profile favors personal bests, and the international atmosphere provides extra motivation for the final sprint. Once you cross the finish line and receive a Polish-German souvenir medal, the Euroville Gubin-Guben invites you to excellent cross-border recovery activities. The Theaterinsel (Theater Island) in Gubin is the green heart of the Polish-German border. Located on the Lusatian Neisse, this island was once a cultural center and is now a beautifully restored park with theater ruins. It is an ideal place for a leisurely post-race walk, to ease sore muscles, and relax by the water. The ruins of the parish church in Gubin are a monumental Gothic parish church from the 14th century, destroyed during World War II. Today, its secured ruins are an incredible historical monument and a symbol of Polish-German reconciliation. Taking a photo with your medal against the backdrop of this immense structure is an absolute must. A walk through German Guben is also worthwhile. After the race, it is worth crossing the river again, this time at a leisurely pace. Guben offers charming architecture, well-kept parks, and interesting traces of its former cloth industry. It's an excellent opportunity for a quick trip abroad. A Polish-German feast is the best way to replenish calories burned on the course by enjoying local flavors from both sides of the border. In Gubin, traditional Polish żurek or roasted meats await you. After crossing the bridge, you can taste classic German Bratwurst with mustard or a traditional schnitzel with a cold regional beer. If you stay in the area longer after the competition and desire complete isolation, head a few kilometers north to the Krzesin Landscape Park. The surrounding lakes, surrounded by pine forests, are a great place for true nature relaxation and a reset after the race emotions. The Course sans Frontières in Gubin is an event with a fantastic atmosphere, where sport becomes a universal language of understanding. Impeccable organization, great supporters on both sides of the Neisse, and a racing adventure that shows that passion knows no barriers. Exceed your limits in Gubin!

ジェロナ・グラの5Kレースについて

Zielona Góra
