Worcester runners have the River Severn loops and compact city-centre parks, but the real draw is escaping southwest to the Malvern Hills—a 20km ride gets you onto serious elevation and the Storm The Castle Duathlon course. Cyclists dominate here: the Beacon Roads CC Club 20 and Worcester St. Johns CC Club 10 are the bread-and-butter local races, fast and hilly on the roads between the city and the escarpment. The Cotswold Way challenge starts nearby, 160km across the Cotswolds to the southeast.
