Running: Kos town gives runners a simple coastal base, with short loops and longer road days starting close to the centre. The first route covers 00 km with +17 m gain. The second route covers 99 km with +68 m gain. The third route covers 22 km with +122 m gain. The fourth route covers 57 km with +1,232 m gain. Patmos ChoRun 2026 is the named anchor race in the brief.
Cycling: Kos town is built for riding, and locals use bikes for everyday moves as much as training. The waterfront cycle lane runs 13 km from Faros beach to Psalidi beach, so Z2 spins stay clean and coastal. The town also has 14 kilometres of cycle paths, with a branch heading inland down Hippocratous and Vasileos Pavlou avenues. Riders push beyond town toward Kardamena, Kefalos, Tingaki, Antimachia, Mastihari, Marmari, Pyli, Zia, Zipari, Platani, Lagoudi, and Asfendiou. The climbs sit where the roads rise toward Cape Skandari, Cape Lacter, and Cape Drecanum, with dirt roads for singletrack-style work.
Season: Kos works all year, so runners and cyclists can keep steady base miles without making the island a one-season plan. Summer keeps cycling easy because the island stays mostly flat, and the waterfront lane makes early rides feel natural before the day gets busy. Locals keep short runs close to Kos town when the heat lands, then save longer efforts for cooler windows. Winter changes the rhythm more than the routes, and Antagora Square in Kos town centre hosted the PPC e-bike Festival on 11-12 December 2021. Riders still get flat roads, dirt options, and mountain routes, while runners keep the same coastal loops.
